The walk was the 21st annual event, organized to raise money for AIDS research and development. This year, donations reached $190,000 a huge increase even compared to last year. The fun-filled day was a smashing success and the LIFE Program was excited and honored to be a part.

Fall 2007 LIFE Cluster News and Events

The 2007 Fall semester is under way, and the freshmen are already deeply into, no doubt successful college careers. The LIFE program is also under way for the Fall 2007 session. This year, over 80 Peer Mentors participated in a two day training session the week before classes began. The training included informational sessions on diversity, service learning, and campus resources designed to aid Peer Mentors when interacting with their clusters. The only thing they didn't work on was picture taking. . .

Our Fall 2007 Peer Mentors

The first freshmen experience classes began on Tuesday, August 28th. Since then, students have been busy adjusting to University life, learning about campus resources, participating in educational field trips, and collaborating on Service Learning Projects, which will be displayed at LIFE Fest at the end of the semester.

2006 - Scott Anderson Speaks on Darfur - 2006

Throughout the Fall of 2006, the LIFE Office hosted and offered many programs and special events including a visit from renowned author Scott Anderson, as part of the program's Global Agenda initiative. Anderson came to campus to speak on first-hand experiences of the genocide and other political and social issues happening at the time in Darfur. The speech was precluded by a social gathering at the Blue and Gold Club and the visit itself was an overall success.
