One Day, One Person, One Campus, One Cause
On November 11th our cluster, clad in bright green "11-11" shirts, broke into five groups and spread out around the campus and surrounding community to pick up trash and cigarette butts. We wanted to focus our service project within the community that the class would be a part of for the next few years. We also chose to clean particular areas that have an overlap between university and non-university members. We felt that it was important to raise campus awareness about the environment that we share with so many others. We hoped that this project would be remembered the next time they take a late night stroll down a street of Newark they remember to keep the levels down and save their trash for a bin.
