The community service project our cluster participated in was Rose's Run in Wilmington , DE at the Charter School . A number of my students went to school with Rose, who was suffered a severe brain injury due to a car accident in 2005. The run is a fundraiser to help the costs of rehabilitation to make Rose better. Our cluster volunteered in the run, where we picked up trash after the runners on the course and cleaned up after the run was over. For our project we decided to do our presentation about driving safety issues through our PowerPoint and skit/video presentation. We split the class up into four teams that were responsible for research, the skit/script, the presentation (speakers), and the PowerPoint. We hope to also burn our presentation to CD's and hand them our to neighboring schools in the Newark area to raise awareness of important issues around driving recklessly and prevention methods.
