There are over 26 millions 18-25 year olds living in the United States and less than one half of this number turned up to vote in the 2004 election which is why we chose to focus on changing that within our own community. Our cluster decided one of the main reasons young people don't get out to vote is their lack of knowledge of the candidates. We decided that instead of simply going around to the freshmen dorms and dining halls to get people to register to vote we would also provide them with simple, to the point information on the candidates. Our goal is to get the newest eligible voters not just registered but informed so they can make an educated decision and thus become more inspired to get out and vote.
