Our cluster completed a community service project at Newark Manor Nursing Home. We visited the nursing home on two different nights. The first night we played bingo while the second night we made fall crafts. The residents were very happy to have cheerful door hangers with their names on them as well as creative turkey napkin holders for their Thanksgiving dinner. We ended both nights with homemade treats baked by our cluster. The residents really seemed to enjoy hearing each student's interests and involvements at University of Delaware while they ate their baked good. Through the experience, our cluster was very touched to make the residents smile and even hear them ask for us to visit again. As a matter of fact, our cluster was so motivated by giving time to the residents at Newark Manor, that we promised them a date in early December to return and make winter crafts. Our presentation will consist of a PowerPoint presentation which will include pictures from both nights as well as a connection to the world of psychology.
