Our cluster contributed to the community by picking up cigarette butts littered on campus. Over two billion cigarette butts are littered on any given day, which is creating environmental problems across the world. Through this project, our cluster learned the significance of littering cigarette butts. Although for some it is viewed as an acceptable practice in our society, there are many negative consequences resulting from these actions. Our presentation will attempt to provide evidence of these negative effects, in the hope of deterring individuals from engaging in this behavior. In addition, our presentation will briefly include information about the dangers of smoking. The students enjoyed this project and it opened their eyes to a serious problem that they had not previously recognized.
