Remember all the classics?…The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Green Eggs and Ham…Remember the nights when someone tucked you into bed and read you a story? Remember how you would beg to hear “just one more” before lights out? We want all children to have this opportunity. As an English cluster, we strive to promote literacy in today's technology dependent society. For our project, we decided to organize a book drive and to donate the books to underprivileged children at Di's Day Care Center in Wilmington , Delaware . We also wanted to interact with young readers, so we organized a trip to the day care center to read to the children. The situation was win-win as we were able to enjoy a great afternoon with the children and contribute books to their daycare center, so that they may enjoy the benefits of reading for years to come.
