The Princeton Review named Delaware the fourth most politically apathetic college in the nation in 2006. This ranking coupled with the fact that we are now less than a year away from the next presidential election helped my cluster decide on a project. Our cluster completed our project on Tuesday, November 27 where we registered students to vote in Pencader Dining Hall from 11:00am-1:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm . Our cluster was given permission by the non-profit, non-partisan organization Rock the Vote, which was founded in 1990 in response to a wave of attacks on freedom of speech and artistic expression. My students and I had a table in which four laptops were set out on and were opened up to rockthevote.com. It is here where students filled in all of their information in order to register to vote in their home state. Rockthevote.com then sent each student a PDF file to his or her school e-mail which they were to print out and send to the address on the on the completed form. We filmed our project using a camera on loan from the Student Multimedia Design Center and also took pictures using our digital cameras. We will be showing a slide show/ video during our presentation.
