As a student participating within the LIFE program, a main goal is to recognize that we are a part of a larger community. We wanted our community service project to benefit the local Newark community. We accomplished this by organizing a food drive in conjunction with the local Super Fresh. As a group, we raised awareness for the Food Bank of Delaware by asking for donations of canned foods from patrons who were entering the Super Fresh. All donations went directly towards the Food Bank of Delaware , which is a non-profit agency that provides low and no cost food for the local community. Our presentation will demonstrate how we have learned the importance of becoming involved in our local community and working towards a greater cause.
